We have been appointed to transform an existing 1980’s office building in Southwark into a 28,000sqft 76-bedroom aparthotel, revitalising a prominent corner at the busy junction of Southwark Bridge Road and Southwark Street. The proposal carefully balances contemporary intervention with the building’s setting within the Thrale Street Conservation Area.

At the heart of the project, is a commitment to retain and build upon the existing structure, preserving the current stair core and around half of the existing floor plate to minimise embodied carbon. The building will then be extended both outward and upward, creating larger, more flexible floorplates and opening up new possibilities for efficient internal layouts.
