Bluebell Wood
Bluebell Wood is a two-acre site in Surrey’s scenic Wentworth Estate. Here, the client approached us to create a modern interpretation of a traditional pitched roof country home, where they could enjoy an outdoor lifestyle in the warmer months of the year.
We designed a more traditional form for the front façade, responding to the style of neighbouring homes and the local vernacular. Towards the back of the house, contemporary, faceted forms of glass and brick open up the views across the garden and landscape beyond. Within, the spaces are connected by a central, glazed atrium which floods the heart of the home with natural light.
The home also benefits from a distinct sense of spaciousness, with several lightwells and a stairwell leading down to the basement providing a seamless connection between the two levels. When moving through the home, our design ensures that there are always views out to the landscape, blurring the lines between the interior and exterior spaces and maximising the client’s enjoyment of the home year-round.
