Eleanor Downs

Part II Architectural Assistant
BSc (Hons) MArch

Eleanor undertook her BA at The Welsh School of Architecture, Cardiff University and completed her Part II studies at The Bartlett UCL. She pursued a career in architecture as she was attracted by its multi-faceted nature, and enjoys being involved in a project from start to finish.

Eleanor joined Cousins & Cousins from a background in residential architecture. Her interests lie in the research of participatory architecture, studying how architecture can affect those who surround it, whether it’s a house or public space, as well as evaluating how inhabitants themselves can influence the space they reside in. Focusing on urban-dwelling, Eleanor works primarily on housing projects, adapting to the contemporary needs of a fast moving and transient society.

In a world increasingly dominated by tech Eleanor loves making by hand, whether that be sewing, cooking or making furniture. She brings this appreciation of material quality and craftsmanship to her work in the practice.
